Positions
Positions are the roles in your team — Manager, Cook, Cashier, and so on. They connect staff members to the checklists and shifts meant for their role.
What's on the page
A list of positions with two columns:
- Position name
- Description
Each row has an edit (pencil) and delete (trash) button. On mobile, the list appears as cards. Columns can be shown or hidden, and your choice is remembered.
Adding a position
- Open Settings → Positions.
- Click Add.
- Enter the Position name (required), e.g. "Cook".
- Optionally add a Description — a free-text note about what the role covers.
- Click Save.
Editing a position
- Click the pencil icon on the position's row.
- Change the name or description.
- Click Save.
Reordering positions
Drag a position by its handle to change its place in the list. The order is saved automatically.
Deleting a position
- Click the trash icon on the position's row.
- Confirm in the Delete this record? dialog.
How positions are used
- Staff — each staff member is assigned a position on the Staff page.
- Checklist targeting — a checklist template can be tied to a position, so it reaches the right people (for example, an opening checklist for cooks only). See Checklists.
- Shift planning — shifts can specify a position, which helps you see who should cover what.
TIP
Keep positions broad (a handful of clear roles) rather than one per person — checklists and shifts are easier to manage that way. At least one position is required to complete onboarding.
