Step 1 — Organization
The first step of the onboarding wizard collects basic information about your organization. As the step's hint says: Basic information — used in reports and notifications.
Fields
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Organization name | Yes | The name of your business — shown in reports and notifications. |
| Time zone | No | Defaults to your device's time zone. Searchable list of standard time zones. |
| Contact phone | No | Includes a country-code selector; the number is entered with a digit mask (e.g. 64 123 456). |
| Contact email | No | Must be a valid email address, or you'll see Invalid email. |
How to complete this step
- Enter your Organization name — this is the only required field.
- Check the Time zone. It is pre-filled from your device, so it's usually already correct — but confirm it if you are setting up the account from a different region than your restaurant.
- Optionally add a Contact phone (pick the country code first) and a Contact email.
- Move to the next step. Your entries are saved automatically as you type and again when you continue.
There is no save button on this step — changes are saved automatically about half a second after you stop typing. If a save fails, you'll see Couldn't save. Please try again.
Why each field matters
- Organization name identifies your business across DailyMark — it appears in reports and in notifications your staff receive.
- Time zone anchors all scheduling — see the warning below.
- Contact phone and Contact email give your team and reports a point of contact for the organization.
Why the time zone matters
Set the time zone carefully
The organization time zone is the default for everything time-based in DailyMark: shift schedules and the timing of checklist sends to your staff in Telegram. If it's wrong, checklists will arrive at the wrong local time.
Individual locations can have their own time zone later (useful for chains spanning regions); when a location doesn't set one, it inherits the organization's time zone.
Editing later
Everything on this step can be changed after onboarding under Settings → Organization, including one field the wizard doesn't ask for: Address.
When you're done here, continue to Step 2 — Locations.
