Step 2 — Locations
The second step of the onboarding wizard is where you add the places your team works. The step's hint explains it best: A location is a branch, unit or logistics point. At least one is required.
What counts as a location
A location is any place you want to schedule shifts or target checklists for:
- A restaurant branch (e.g. Downtown, Airport)
- A department inside one venue (e.g. Kitchen, Bar)
- A logistics unit (e.g. Warehouse, Delivery)
If you run a single venue, one location — for example simply your restaurant's name — is enough.
Fields
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Location name | Yes | How the location appears in schedules, checklists, and staff assignments. |
How to complete this step
- Press Add location.
- Enter the Location name.
- Repeat for each branch, department, or unit you want to manage.
- To delete an entry, use Remove next to it.
- Continue to the next step — entries are saved as you go.
You must add at least one location. If the list is empty, the wizard shows Add at least one entry. and won't let you continue.
Start small
You don't need to model your whole company now. Add one location to get through setup, and add the rest later under Settings → Locations.
How locations are used
Once onboarding is complete, locations show up throughout the app:
- Staff — each staff member can be assigned to one or several locations.
- Work schedule — shifts are planned per location.
- Checklists — checklist templates target a position at a location, so each branch can have its own task lists.
Editing later
After onboarding, locations are managed under Settings → Locations, where each location can also get its own Time zone (it falls back to the organization's time zone if not set).
